The fear over the rising antisemitism throughout the world has only intensified with the results of the latest elections and the many candidates who espouse enmity towards Jews and Israel, voted into significant positions of power.
In last week's portion we read the reassuring and timely promise G-d made to Avraham, following the loyalty he exhibited at the Akeidah, that 'Your offspring shall inherit ืฉืขืจ ืืืืื — the gate of its enemy.' (ืืจืืฉืืช ืื ืื)
This week as well, this promise to the seed of Avraham is echoed in Lavan's blessing to his sister Rivkah as she heads towards her destiny as the wife of Yitzchok and matriarch of our nation, when he and his family collectively utter, "Our sister, may you come to be thousands of myriads...
Border Police officers arrested seven illegal infiltrators near Jerusalem on Thursday, including a driver who allegedly disguised himself as a Haredi Jew in an attempt to evade security checks.
During an operation at the a-Za'ayyem Crossing, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle and stopped it for inspection. A search of the vehicle uncovered six passengers who did not have permits to enter or remain in Israel.
Police said further investigation found that the driver was also an illegal infiltrator. He had allegedly grown payos, dressed in Charedi clothing and wore a kippah.
Officers also discovered that the vehicle had been taken off the road and was fitted with replacement license plates.
All seven suspects, residents of the Hebron and Tulkarm areas, were arrested a...

Demonstrators at a state-organized rally in Tehran’s Revolution Square set fire to a massive banner depicting U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The burning took place during a rally marking the anniversary of the 1979 U.S. Embassy takeover, following the Republican Party’s major setbacks in the U.S. midterm elections.
President Donald Trump blamed the Republican Party’s sweeping midterm losses on his absence from the ballot, saying the GOP would have won “in a landslide” if he had been running.
“I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Tuesday night as Democrats made major gains across the country.
Trump had made his own political influence a central part of the campaign, repeatedly telling supporters in the weeks before the election to “pretend” he was on the ballot. At a rally in Kansas two days before Election Day, he again argued that Republicans performed better when he was on the ballot and urged voters to treat the election as though he were running.
After the results came in, Trump said ...

Israeli security forces have foiled an alleged major terror attack planned in Jerusalem’s Old City and arrested a 19-year-old resident of Beit Hanina, the Shin Bet and Israel Police announced.
According to investigators, the suspect had spent approximately two years preparing a multi-stage attack. He allegedly planned to detonate an explosive device at Lions’ Gate before making his way onto Har HaBayis and opening fire on Jewish civilians and police officers. Investigators said his goal was to kill as many people as possible before escaping.
The suspect allegedly used his trips to Friday prayers to study the area, including the locations of security cameras and the deployment of security forces. He also searched the dark web for a weapon.
In recent months, he reportedly bega...

After Yitzchak takes Rivka for a wife, we are informed that Avraham remarried. (Chayei Sarah 25:1) The Pasuk states that his new wife’s name was “Ketura”. Rashi tells us that Ketura was none other than Hagar, Sarah’s former maid servant and Avraham’s former wife/concubine who bore him Yishmael. (Rashi 25:1) This raises an interesting question. Sarah had insisted that Avraham “drive away this maidservant”. (Vayeira 21:10) Indeed, as Avraham was reluctant to treat Hagar in such a manner, Hashem told him to “listen to Sarah your wife”. (21:12) If Sarah correctly instructed Avraham to drive Hagar away, (with Hashem’s approval) why after Sarah dies would Avraham remarry her...
