A federal judge on Friday indefinitely blocked the Trump administration from revoking Harvard University’s ability to host international students and scholars while legal challenges continue.
The preliminary injunction issued by US District Judge Allison Burroughs extends a temporary block the judge had issued last month against the administration after it revoked the school’s certification in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, which allows it to host foreign students and scholars.
The school’s legal battle against the administration took a turn in recent weeks after President Donald Trump issued a proclamation that suspends international visas for new students. The judge similarly stepped in on an emergency basis to halt that order in early June, and s...

A federal judge on Friday ordered anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil to be released on bail while his immigration and civil cases proceed through the courts, citing the "extraordinary circumstances" of his case.
Judge Michael Farbiarz, a Biden appointee, assessed during a hearing in New Jersey that Khalil was not a flight risk or a danger to the community and that his detention was therefore "highly unusual."
Khalil's attorneys had said in a letter to the court that his imprisonment in an immigration detention center in Jena, Louisiana, was an "exceedingly rare" decision on the part of the government and amounted to unconstitutional retaliation.
Khalil, a lawful permanent resident, has been detained for three months after he was arrested in March at his apartment at Co...

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir on Friday stressed that Israel must be prepared for a "prolonged campaign" to counter the "existential threat" from Iran.
In a direct address to the citizens of Israel, Zamir revealed the extensive preparations leading up to the operation, stating, "A week ago, I gave the order. Operation ‘Rising Lion’ was underway. Since then, we have been operating on the offensive."
Zamir emphasized the critical juncture at which this operation was launched. "Upon assuming my position as the Chief of the General Staff, I stated clearly: we are in a pivotal period in which we must remove an existential threat," he asserted. He further elaborated on Iran's long-standing intentions, stating, "For years, the Iranians have been building a clear plan to annihil...
Baltimore, MD - June 20, 2025 – Police departments across the U.S. are issuing urgent warnings about a growing crime trend known as jugging—a term few had heard just a couple of years ago, but one that’s quickly becoming part of the everyday criminal lexicon.
Jugging involves thieves targeting unsuspecting victims who have just withdrawn money or valuables from banks, ATMs, or high-end stores. The suspects follow the victims to their next stop—often a home, grocery store, or gym—then break into their car or rob them directly. It’s sneaky, fast, and devastating.
How It Works:
A suspect lurks near a bank or shopping center, watching for someone withdrawing cash or purchasing valuables.
Once a target is identified, the suspect follows...
Baltimore, MD - June 20, 2025 - Marilyn Mosby's last day of home detention will be Friday, a judge ordered.
According to the order from U.S. District Judge Lydia Griggsby, Mosby filed for a motion for the return of her passport and a motion for waiver of her location monitoring fee on June 16, 2025.
Griggsby ruled that in support of the motion for the return of Mosby's passport, her home detention will be complete on June 20, 2025, and U.S. Probation says it will file a motion for early termination of Mosby's supervised release upon completion of her home detention.
Mosby, Baltimore City’s former state’s attorney, was convicted on two counts of federal perjury charges following a jury trial in November 2023, and a separate jury convicted her in a Ja...
Port St. Lucie, FL – June 20, 2025 – (FOX45) Two toddlers were rescued from a dangerously overheated car in Port St. Lucie while their guardian shopped inside a GameStop, according to local police.
Officers responded to the parking lot after witnesses reported seeing a 1-year-old and 2-year-old alone in the vehicle, visibly sweating and in distress. The car was not running, and the windows were closed.
Bodycam footage shows officers smashing a window to reach the children, who were quickly removed and treated for heat exposure. Thankfully, both toddlers are expected to recover.
The adult guardian was taken into custody and may face charges related to child endangerment.
It’s that time of year again when the weekly Torah readings recount our mostly inglorious moments in the desert. One indiscretion and failure after another. Hashem miraculously saves us and provides for us again and again, and how do we thank Him? We complain. Repeatedly.
A “stiff necked people”, Hashem calls us. And then, when He tells us of His plans to give us His special land, we don’t count our lucky stars that He chose us. Instead, we say, “Let’s check it out first and see if it’s worth the fuss.” We send our spies, and we all know how that turns out. We totally blow it. Ten of the twelve spies come back with a horrifying report. The other two claim that “The land is very, very good.” What did they each see that resulted in...
Baltimore, MD - June 20, 2025 - Cybercriminals have breached insurance giant Aflac, potentially stealing Social Security numbers, insurance claims and health information, the company said Friday, the latest in a spree of hacks against the insurance industry.
With billions of dollars in annual revenue and tens of millions of customers, Aflac is the biggest victim yet in the ongoing digital assault on U.S. insurance companies that has the industry on edge and the FBI and private cyber experts scrambling to contain the fallout.
Erie Insurance and Philadelphia Insurance Companies have also reported hacks this month, which in those cases have caused widespread disruptions to IT systems used to serve customers. All three insurance-company hacks are consistent with the techniques of a...
Worshippers at the Great Synagogue in the Shikun Vatikim neighborhood of Holon are struggling to recover from the damage the synagogue sustained from a missile barrage launched from Iran yesterday.
The missile strike completely shattered the synagogue’s windows and caused extensive damage to the building, which serves as a study hall for young men and a yeshiva for Torah scholars.
Rabbi Binyamin Hamra, who heads the yeshiva and study hall and is the son of the legendary rabbi of the Syrian Jewish community, expressed relief that the attack occurred at 7:05 AM, during the brief moments between the first and second prayer services of the morning/
"In a miraculous turn of events, the worshippers had just finished the first prayer service at 7:05 AM and had not yet entered the second ...
Why is G-d bringing us to this Land to die by the sword? Our wives and young children will be taken captive! Is it not better for us to return to Egypt? (Bamidbar 14 2-3)
Say to them: As I live — the word of G-d — if I shall not to do to you as you have spoken in My ears. In this wilderness shall your carcasses drop… And your young children of whom you said will be taken captive, I shall bring them; they shall know the Land that you have despised. (ibid. 31,33)
These faithless fathers who lacked trust in G-d express fear for their lives and exasperate over the fate of their poor children who will then be open prey to their enemies. G-d decrees that their spoken fear of death in the wilderness will indeed be realized, but their concern over their children being taking c...

Annapolis, MD - June 19, 2025 - A report released Wednesday by the Maryland Comptroller’s Office confirmed what thousands of Maryland workers already knew: The state’s economy is deeply tied to the federal government.
The 91-page report, which was produced in partnership with the University of Maryland, College Park’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, aimed to establish a “baseline” of how the state’s economy relies on federal jobs, retirement income, grants, direct payments and contracts by studying data from before the start of the second Trump administration. The project team analyzed data from over the past decade, but focused on the last fiscal year, to determine what the federal government “has meant and still means” to the Mary...
