There are neshamos whose journeys stretch beyond the ordinary boundaries of time, neshamos that shine even as the body weakens, neshamos that rise higher even as the world pulls down.
Goli was such a neshamah.
Her name hints to her mission. Goli, from the same root as גלה, to reveal. As we plead in davening, גלה כבוד מלכותך עלינו — Reveal the glory of Your Kingdom upon us. In her quiet, steady way, Goli revealed the hidden greatness and power of a Yiddishe neshamah. She showed that true strength lies in spirit, that the glory of Hashem’s Malchus can be seen in a radiant heart anchored in unwavering faith.
Goli’s story cannot be measured by hardship alone. She wouldn’t want it to be. Rather, it’s a story of aliyah, a life where the ...

Reports from Gaza indicate that Dr. Zakaria Sinwar, brother of senior Hamas figures Yahya and Mohammed Sinwar, was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Nuseirat refugee camp. Two of his children, who were with him at the time, were also reportedly killed.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out the precision strike late Friday night, aiming at what was described as a high-value target. The operation was conducted by the Israeli Air Force.
Earlier, the Saudi television network Al-Hadath reported that the body of Mohammed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, was discovered in a tunnel in Khan Yunis that had been targeted by the IDF. The report stated that ten of Sinwar's aides were found alongside him, as well as the body of Mohammed Shabana, commander of the Rafah Brigade...
US Vice President J.D. Vance is scheduled to arrive in Israel on Tuesday, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two nations, Amit Segal reported. The visit comes shortly after President Donald Trump's tour of the Middle East last week, during which he finalized substantial arms deals with Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Israeli officials view Vance's visit as a reaffirmation of the robust and stable relationship between the United States and Israel after the President did not include Israel in his most recent trip to the region.
The White House is reportedly in advanced stages of coordinating meetings between Vice President Vance and senior Israeli government officials. His visit is expected to follow his attendance at the papal inauguration in Rome.
During his recent...

A mother’s letter. A child’s fight. Shira urgently needs life-saving care. You can help - but only if we act now.
My name is Bracha, and I’m writing not only as a mother, but as someone who deeply believes in the quiet power of kindness.
My daughter Shira is a bright, tender-hearted little girl. She’s been diagnosed with leukemia — a cancer of the blood. Her eyesight has already been affected, and the emotional toll on our family has been immense.
Shira is currently receiving care in a local hospital in Poland, but doctors have urged us to transfer her to a specialized children's hospital in Vienna. There, she can receive the advanced, life-saving treatment she urgently needs.
The cost of this treatment is over $150,000 — far beyond anything we ...
The body of Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar has been found in a terrorist attack tunnel in Khan Yunis, Saudi media reported Sunday morning.
According to the Al-Hadath network, the bodies of ten of Sinwar's aides were also found, as was the body of Hamas Rafah Brigade commander Mohammed Shabana.
Sinwar was targeted in a strike on an underground command and control center in Khan Yunis last Tuesday. Israeli defense officials believed that the strike was successful, but no confirmation had been received until now.
The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry initially reported that 16 individuals were killed and 70 were wounded in the strike. The reports did not note their identities.
Sinwar became the leader of Hamas in Gaza and the head of the Hamas militant wing following the assassi...
Israel's Defense Minister Katz said on Saturday that the opening salvo of Operation Gideon's Chariots hours earlier triggered a rethink on behalf of Gazans jihadists, compelling them to return to hostage talks with lowered demands.
Palestinians reported "dozens" of fatalities after Israel Defense Force (IDF) launched a sweeping offensive that included ground troops closing in on key strategic enclaves under the cover of heavy artillery fire and airstrikes. In a statement, the military stated that it had “launched extensive attacks and mobilized forces to achieve all the goals of the war in Gaza, including the release of the hostages and the dismantling of Hamas."
The IDF published an early warning on Sunday morning, at 1:57 a.m., stating it has identified the launch of a missile from Yemen toward Israeli territory and that IAF aerial defense systems are operating to intercept the threat.
Several minutes later, sirens were sounded throughout central Israel, including Tel Aviv and nearby towns.
The IDF subsequently said that “a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted. Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.”
On Friday, IAF 15 fighter jets took part in airstrikes targeting Houthi targets in Yemen, dropping over 30 munitions on targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime.
The strikes marked the eighth time that the IDF has struck Houthi targets in Yemen since the start of the war.

"IDF forces under the Southern Command will continue to operate to protect Israeli citizens and fulfill the war's objectives," it added.

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected the Trump administration’s appeal to quickly resume deportations of Venezuelans under an 18th century wartime law.
Over two dissenting votes, the justices acted on an emergency appeal from lawyers for Venezuelan men who have been accused of being gang members, a designation that the administration says makes them eligible for rapid removal from the United States under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
The high court had already called a temporary halt to the deportations from a north Texas detention facility in a middle-of-the-night order issued last month.
Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented.
A 25-year-old police officer was moderately wounded in a stabbing attack at the Chain Gate in Jerusalem's Old City on Friday evening.
According to an initial investigation, the terrorist exited a mosque after evening prayers, drew a knife, and stabbed the police officer in the back.
The Israel Police said that the terrorist was shot dead by other officers who were at the scene.
Magen David Adom said that a report was received at 9:12 p.m. at MDA's 101 Emergency Call Center in the Jerusalem region of a stabbing victim near the Chain Gate of the Old City, adding that MDA EMTs and Paramedics are treating a conscious 25-year-old male victim.
The victim is being transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
Police forces in large numbers are present at the scene.
A controversial resolution recognizing the 77th anniversary of the "Nakba," the Arabic term utilized by Palestinian Arabs to describe what they view as the "catastrophe" or "disaster" associated with the establishment of the modern State of Israel, was introduced in the US Congress on Wednesday, according to JNS.
The legislation was spearheaded by Representatives Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), all prominent members of the so-called "Squad" in the House, notorious for their anti-Israel views.
Rep. Tlaib issued a sharp statement upon the bill's introduction, saying, "The Makba never ended. Today, we are witnessing the Israeli apartheid regime carry out genocide in Gaza. It is a campaign to erase Palestinians from existence."

According to foreign media reports, the Israeli Air Force carried out strikes Friday on terror targets in the western Yemeni port city of Al-Hudeidah, targeting Houthi infrastructure in response to repeated missile launches toward Israel.
Reports indicate that the IDF targeted three key maritime ports—Hudeidah, Ras Isa, and Al-Salif—which Israel had previously warned must be evacuated. These ports have been linked to the Houthi terror organization’s efforts to smuggle arms and launch attacks.
Senior Houthi official, Nasr al-Din Amer, declared, 'We are in an open battle against Israel and we will not stop our attacks nor lift the siege on the Gulf of Eilat, and we will not cease our efforts to continue the aerial siege on Israeli airports. We will expand our militar...
Fiscal hawks on the House Budget Committee on Friday sunk a key vote on advancing the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that encompasses President Trump’s legislative agenda, marking a stunning setback for the legislation.
The 16-21 vote throws up a hurdle for leaders hoping to send the bill to the Senate by Memorial Day — but are still haggling over last minute changes to appease not only the fiscal hawks but moderates seeking bigger blue-state tax breaks.
Five Republicans voted no: Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), Josh Brecheen (R-Okla.), Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) and Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.). Republicans could only afford to lose two of their members and still advance the legislation. Smucker changed his vote from yes to no in a procedural move.
