Israeli security forces have foiled an alleged major terror attack planned in Jerusalem’s Old City and arrested a 19-year-old resident of Beit Hanina, the Shin Bet and Israel Police announced.
According to investigators, the suspect had spent approximately two years preparing a multi-stage attack. He allegedly planned to detonate an explosive device at Lions’ Gate before making his way onto Har HaBayis and opening fire on Jewish civilians and police officers. Investigators said his goal was to kill as many people as possible before escaping.
The suspect allegedly used his trips to Friday prayers to study the area, including the locations of security cameras and the deployment of security forces. He also searched the dark web for a weapon.
In recent months, he reportedly bega...

After Yitzchak takes Rivka for a wife, we are informed that Avraham remarried. (Chayei Sarah 25:1) The Pasuk states that his new wife’s name was “Ketura”. Rashi tells us that Ketura was none other than Hagar, Sarah’s former maid servant and Avraham’s former wife/concubine who bore him Yishmael. (Rashi 25:1) This raises an interesting question. Sarah had insisted that Avraham “drive away this maidservant”. (Vayeira 21:10) Indeed, as Avraham was reluctant to treat Hagar in such a manner, Hashem told him to “listen to Sarah your wife”. (21:12) If Sarah correctly instructed Avraham to drive Hagar away, (with Hashem’s approval) why after Sarah dies would Avraham remarry her...

A kosher bakery in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent borough was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning, less than 48 hours after the business was targeted in a separate attempted arson.
Mimimelon, located on Saint-Louis Street, was first targeted around 11:30 p.m. Monday. According to the bakery’s co-owner, Jennie Volfson, surveillance footage showed a person attempting to enter through a rear door before throwing a liquid against the building and setting it on fire. The first fire was extinguished before causing significant damage.
Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police and firefighters were called back to the same location after a second fire broke out. Approximately 60 firefighters worked for about two hours to bring the blaze under control. The bakery was destroyed, and neighbori...

As antisemitism surges around the world, a familiar pattern in Jewish history reappears: in every generation there are those who turn against the Jewish people, but there are also people who choose to stand with us.
One of the most famous examples is Emil Zola, whose name appears on street signs in cities across Israel, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, Ramle, and Kiryat Ono.
Why would Israel name streets after a French novelist who was not Jewish and never even set foot in the country?
The answer begins with one of the great dramas of modern European history: the Dreyfus Affair.
In 1894, Captain Alfred Dreyfus, a Jewish officer in the French army, was falsely accused of passing military secrets to Germany. The evidence against him was weak, but France at the time was dri...
Reunited in Gratitude
Riki Siton sent me a message about a special gathering held in Ra’anana a couple of weeks ago: a thanksgiving celebration for the passengers of the Flydubai flight who experienced an extraordinary miracle.
The event was organized by Bar Kuperstein, who returned from captivity in Gaza, together with his amazing mother, Julie, and Efrat Raz, the widow of Noam Raz, a fighter in Israel’s elite Yamam counterterrorism unit.
And where did this moving gathering take place? At the home of Ganya and Shay Tzohar, the aunt and uncle of fallen IDF officer Omer Neutra, who was taken hostage to Gaza.
Passengers came from all over Israel to give thanks, reconnect, and recite Birkat HaGomel, the blessing of thanksgiving after surviving danger.
Riki described an upl...
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has classified a nationwide recall of nearly 3,800 bottles of a combination blood pressure medication after testing found that the pills failed to dissolve properly.
Macleods Pharma USA, based in New Jersey, is recalling certain lots of Olmesartan Medoxomil, Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets. The recall was initiated on October 7 and classified by the FDA as a Class II recall on October 26.
The recall affects 3,528 bottles containing 30 tablets from lot 12251163A and 216 bottles containing 90 tablets from lot 12251163B. Both lots have an expiration date of May 31, 2027.
The FDA cited “failed dissolution specifications” as the reason for the recall. This means the tablets did not dissolve as required during quality testing, poten...
Vice President JD Vance directly blamed President Donald Trump’s war with Iran for the Republican Party’s sweeping losses in Tuesday’s midterm elections, saying the conflict was the central reason voters turned against the GOP.
“The reason we lost is the war,” Vance wrote, pointing to President Trump’s own acknowledgment the previous night that the conflict contributed to Republican losses. “Everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there.”
Vance said Republicans had been warned before the election that they were at risk of losing support among voters who backed Trump and Vance in 2024 but were now considering voting for Democrats. According to Vance, an adviser identified four issues the...
