Officer Fatally Shoots Robbery Suspect In Northeast Baltimore

Police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting early Monday in northeast Baltimore.

The incident occurred along Harford Road at Glenmore Ave at a 7-11 store. 

WBAL NewsRadio 1090's Scott Wykoff reports that a Baltimore City police officer drove up to that store at around 2:45 A.M. Monday morning where there was a robbery in progress.

The suspect was armed with a sawed-off shotgun. The suspect exited the store and engaged with the officer but did not fire any shots.

The suspect was shot by the officer and later died at Bayview Hospital.

The officer involved, said to be a 17-year veteran of the force, is believed to be unharmed. 

Scott Wykoff also reports that there was video of the incident which is currently being reviewed by police. 

The store reopened about six hours after the shooting.
