(June 19, 2017) – A severe weather alert has been issued for the afternoon rush hour and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is urging motorists to use extreme caution. Damaging wind gusts and flash flooding is expected to begin in western Maryland by 1 p.m. and hit central Maryland by 4 p.m. The threat is expected to continue into the evening and diminish by 9 p.m.
