BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Authorities are on the lookout for a blue BMW SUV with passenger-side damage that allegedly hit and killed someone Sunday morning between Interstate 83 and I-695.
Before 1:30 a.m., officers said they responded to the ramp from I-83 north to the outer loop of I-695, where a pedestrian was hit.
The victim had been standing next to a 2012 silver Mazda 3, which was parked on the right shoulder, according to police. Officials are waiting to publicly identify the person pending next-of-kin notification.
The blue BMW X5 allegedly sped away after hitting the person, police reported. The passenger-side mirror fell off and was found at the scene, according to officials.
It had Pennsylvania tags and was last seen driving erratically and exiting from I-695 onto Stevenson Road headed north, police reported.
Police need help identifying the vehicle. It is described as a blue BMW X5 made in the mid 2000s (2003 to 2006). It should have damage to the passenger side.
Anyone with information about the crash and/or the vehicle is asked to contact Trooper Wilson# 6512 of the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack at 410-780-2700. The case number is 17-MSP-014697.
