Baltimore, MD - Sept. 4, 2015 - Looking for things to do this September? With Governor’s Day to Serve, beginning September 11, there are some wonderful ways to give back to our community. Check out these great events and volunteer opportunities sponsored by The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore or Associated agencies.

1. Through September 11
School Supply Drive

Help those in need. Drop off new school supplies or store gift cards with values of $10 at the JCCs at both the Park Heights and Owings Mills locations, as well as the Jewish Community Services location at 5750 Park Heights Avenue.  In addition, volunteers are needed to help with our community-wide school supply drive which benefits vulnerable families throughout the community. The time commitment is flexible and can be done with a friend, family member or on your own.

Looking for a fun way to introduce your young toddler to the holidays? Check out this free hands-on experience, featuring an interactive story-time, songs and a take home craft. Then join your friends for a taste of the holidays with free apples and honey.

Oliver neighborhood (exact location to be determined)

Join the Sixth Branch, a military veteran organization, to beautify a city neighborhood through cleanup and farming. Help build community by bringing together service-minded veterans and civilians to serve our community on the home front. This Jewish Volunteer Connection project is part of the Governor’s Day to Serve.
