The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Israel, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Simon Wiesenthal Center partnered to present a conference on hate speech on the internet and cyber terrorism. The EchoChamber conference was a platform for high-level discussions with top decision-makers, experts and advisers from Israel, the U.S and Europe, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem, Israel, on June 19, 2017.

Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yuval Rotem, Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Dr. Michael Borchard, of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Israel, gave opening greetings.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Julia Klöckner, CDU Deputy Chairwoman. Member of Parliament, in the presence of German Ambassador to Israel Clemens von Goetze. Klockner issued a wake up call, stating that every 83 seconds there is an incidence of antisemitism, mostly on Twitter. In the digital age, speed in which everything happens, is a new phase of history.

Noam Katz, Deputy Director General, Media and Public Affairs, mentioned how digital cultural and social media can lead to violence.

Paris-based attorney, Dan Shefet, whose firm specializes in internet, intellectual and competition law, discussed lack of laws on the internet.

From the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Cooper and Senior Researcher, Richard Eaton, presented slides with information of new ways terrorists are using the net by using messaging apps. Daniel Cohen  provided further information and details obtained through his research at Tel Aviv University. What we see Cohen said is "tip of the iceberg of what is happening deep in the web."

Diplomat and Director of R&D, Digital Diplomacy at Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yoav Adler, ended the day with "Algorithmic Solutions to Diplomatic Challenges."

Cooper noted in his opening remarks, the marketing genius of Islamist terrorists, adding, "Holding Israel to a double standard is dangerous, one standard is needed." Concluding with the warning of Simon Wiesenthal, "what starts with Jews, never ends with Jews."

Music is now available for free 24/7. Everything is connected. Potential can be great or dangerous. Identities can be hidden and children need to be made aware of dangers. "There are two wolves," Shimon Peres was quoted as saying. "The wolf of good and the wolf of bad." "How do you know which one will win," he was asked. "The one you are feeding will win."

What voices are heard in EchoChambers will not only be serious, but matters of life and death.
