In an angry letter to the Health Ministry, the former Hadassah Ein Kerem pediatric oncologists announced that they are rejecting the possibility of arbitration of the burning issue because of what they call “one big spin.

“In the wake of all these events, there is no point in continuing direct contacts – you reject the proposals that the doctors offer, do not promote proposals that the doctors agree to, you do not offer concrete proposals for a solution, and all our contacts misrepresent the media in one big spin,” the doctors complain.

“There is nothing in these talks that can advance or contribute to any solution, so from now on any proposal for mediation or any other possible solution must be made under the auspices of the High Court of Justice.”

The matter is scheduled to come before the High Court of Justice next week.

While Litzman is clearly backing Hadassah Director-General Prof. Ze’ev Rothstein, who he backed when the latter vied for the position at Hadassah, and speaks harshly about the physicians who resigned in protest and frustration over the situation after the oncology unit was merged with the adult unit.

The doctors however seem to have the support of the parents of the children, whom have seen their mesirus nefesh and success in treating the children. However, Litzman remains steadfast in his backing of Rothstein, according to many, to the detriment of the children.
