‘The Night of Power’ is one of the nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, beginning this year on Wednesday and through Thursday, 28 Sivan. Jerusalem police announced preparations for the event have been completed.

Police, border police, volunteer and specialized units will be patrolling the eastern areas of the capital including the alleyways of the Old City to permit tens of thousands of Muslim worshipers to reach Har Habayis without incident. Police announce there will be zero tolerance towards any efforts to disturb the peace.

Islamic worshipers arriving on buses will board the same buses following prayers. Police strongly advise private vehicles to remain far away from the Old City. There will be street closures in the eastern capital during the night including Sultan Suleiman, Wadi Joz, Derech Yericho and more.

There will be additional closures from 4:00AM to 5:00PM Thursday including Bar Lev Blvd. from National Police HQ Junction southbound. Traffic will be redirected to the Eshkol Tunnels. Derech Chevron will be closed from Miriam HaHashmonit northbound. Traffic will be directed to Derech Beit Lechem.

Residents of the Old City will use Shar Yaffo. Persons heading to the Kosel are directed to use public transportation. One may call ‘110’ for real-time Israel Police traffic updates.
