According to a report released by Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), an agreement was reached by the heads of chareidi parties in Knesset permitting a compromise regarding the egalitarian prayer area at Robinson’s Arch in exchange for canceling the Kotel arrangement.

According to the report, Moshe Gafne, Aryeh Deri and Yaakov Litzman reached agreement with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu which involves sealing the religious status quo at the Kosel in exchange for permitting the egalitarian prayer area at Robinson’s Arch. This includes mixed prayer services without a mechitzah.

It appears the deal was presented to the Chief Rabbis of Israel and they too accepted it in light of the options. The deal was formulated by Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz. The deal is the result of High Court of Justice pressure setting a deadline for a response in one week.
