Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 21, 2017 - TBEX, Travel Blog Exchange, the largest conference and networking event for travel bloggers and online travel journalists, is meeting in Jerusalem, Israel, for their International Conference, March 20-22, at the Jerusalem International Convention Center.

The conference has brought 400 travel bloggers, writers, and industry professionals from around the world, including many first time visitors to Israel.

Ilanit Melchior, Director of Tourism at the Jerusalem Development Authority, opened the conference by welcoming the participants at the opening plenary. Melchior said, "We have only just finished the International Jerusalem Marathon which welcomed 3,500 runners from around the world, and here we have yet another an important opportunity to show people from across the globe our special, and inspirational city. This conference is a unique opportunity reach the top opinion leaders in the travel industry and travel media."

Melchior added, "Jerusalem offers conferences so much more than just the facilities for a successful event, but the opportunity to enjoy the city's exceptional history, culture, culinary delights and nightlife. TBEX's decision to choose Jerusalem is for us a wonderful way to celebrate the new Jerusalem Conventions and Visitors Bureau, launched around a year ago".

The conference agenda includes a number of keynote speakers, including photographer Gary Arndt, who gave the opening plenary and answered questions in an afternoon session. Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat is to address the conference on the second day. Jaclyn Mishal, co-founder of pink pangea, a group dedicated to female travelers where information is shared, is keynote speaker of the closing session. 

Workshops include sessions on how to use technology to attract visitors and create compelling content. Networking was an important feature at this conference, with special sessions for international visitors to meet Israelis. 

Tali Tarlow, founder of Israel Scaventures, which provide educational and fun scavenger hunts suitable for families with range of ages, told BJL, "TBEX was a great experience, we learnt, we networked and we hosted travel bloggers on the Jerusalem Jubilee Scavenger Hunt and the Shuk Dash. It was an honor to be ambassadors of Jerusalem and to contribute in a meaningful way to this event."
