Volunteer MDA emergency responder helps treat her husband following terror attack in Kiryat Arba.

An MDA volunteer who received an emergency call this morning discovered that one of the two victims was husband, a member of the local security squad who was wounded while responding to the terror attack in the Ramat Mamre (Givat Harsina) neighborhood of Kiryat Arba on Thursday.

The attack, which took place in the Ariel family home, left Hallel-Yaffa Ariel, 13, dead, and a volunteer member of the town security team seriously wounded. Both suffered multiple stab wounds.

The second victim, 31-years old, was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Karem in Jerusalem.

On board the ambulance carrying the stabbing victim were a number of MDA first responders and paramedics – one of them the victim’s wife, who calmed her husband and helped in his treatment.

“It is very difficult when you’re treating people, and all of the sudden someone from your family is wounded. But she pulled herself together; it was very important for her to see him, to speak with him, and to call him. They spoke [during his treatment], it was very touching,” Devorah Aviad, an MDA paramedic said.
