A mother and three of her youngest children were killed early Monday in a Brooklyn blaze that engulfed their home, officials said.

Several other family members and six firefighters were among the 10 people injured as the Bravest struggled to knock down the fast-moving fire in Sheepshead Bay, officials said.

The family was asleep when the inferno erupted in a home on E. 14th St. near Ave S. around 2:30 a.m., according to FDNY officials.

The 40-year-old woman died alongside her sons, ages 11 and 7, and a daughter, 3, according to cops.

The father and surviving children — one of whom jumped from a window — escaped. Two boys who were sleeping on the first floor of the home they’d moved to only about eight months ago also were injured, neighbors and family friends said.

The father suffered critical burns.

“It’s a terrible tragedy. It just tears your heart out,” FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said. “These things happen this time of year.”

Nigro said the fire appears to be accidental.

A rabbi who arrived at the home later Monday morning said the injured dad is doing “better.” He said the mother and children will be flown to Israel for burial.

The surviving children are being questioned to determine what might have happened, Nigro said.

Three of the 10 people injured were hospitalized with serious injuries, while others suffered minor injuries.

At least six of the 10 were firefighters who battled the blaze as it spread from the first floor, onto the second floor and then to the attic. The firefighters suffered injuries ranging from burns, smoke inhalation and a broken pelvis.

The flames left much of the home scorched and firefighters were forced to sort through debris on the first floor and in the attic.

A neighbor, who declined to be identified, said he saw firefighters running into the home within minutes of the 911 call.

“There were big flames shooting out the front of the house,” he said. “Firefighters went straight into the fire.”

He did not see any of the residents.

Mourners were ushered out of the home across the street from the fatal fire. Some were in hysterics as they were escorted down the block and into cars waiting for them on Ave. S.

Two men covered the face of a grief-stricken man in the convoy.

In addition to the Brooklyn incident, a blaze broke out in the Bronx late Sunday.

That fire sparked in a home along Simpson St. near Freeman St. in Foxhurst. Three people were sent to a local hospital in serious condition.

Please say Tehillim for the victims of the Brooklyn fire.
