The latest reports from Saturday's snowfall show Carroll, St. Mary's counties had the most snow, according to the National Weather Service.

BALTIMORE, MD — The snow totals are in from the National Weather Service, which received unofficial data from its employees as well as emergency management personnel, trained spotters and media. At the end of the day, Westminster reported the highest accumulation in the Baltimore-Washington area; 6.5 inches of snow were measured there on Saturday, Dec. 9, according to the weather service. There was also a report of 6.5 inches in Ridge from St. Mary's County in southern Maryland Sunday morning.

Temperatures were expected to dip below freezing overnight, and weather officials warned of the possibility of ice, particularly around parking lots, sidewalks, bridges, overpasses and elevated roads.

Drivers were advised to slow down and give themselves extra time.

During Saturday's snowfall, three airports in the region set records for accumulation, according to the National Weather Service: BWI reported 2.8 inches, Dulles had 4 inches and Reagan measured 2 inches of snow, beating the records for snowfall set in those places on Dec. 9 in 2005, officials said.
