Baltimore, MD - Aug. 14, 2017:

Dear Community Members,

Between 8/10/17 and 8/14/17, the Pikeville Precinct experienced five thefts from motor vehicles and two thefts of motor vehicles during the overnight hours. Two thefts from motor vehicles occurred on Stablemere Court where the vehicles were left unlocked and personal items were taken from inside.  One theft from motor vehicle occurred on Stridesham Court where the vehicle was unlocked and a wallet was taken from the center console.  One theft from motor vehicle occurred on Coachmont Court where a rock was used to break the front passenger side window to gain entry and steal a purse left in plain sight on the front passenger seat.  Also on Coachmont Court one vehicle was stolen and the owner kept the spare key to that vehicle in the glove compartment.  In the 1800 block of Rambling Ridge Lane, there was a theft from motor vehicle and a stolen vehicle.  It appears that an unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and stole a key that was located in the glove compartment for another vehicle that was parked nearby.  That key was used to steal the other vehicle.

Please remember to lock your vehicles and remove all valuables at all times.
