Army officials have named the crew chief killed in Monday's helicopter crash in Leonardtown.

Spc. Jeremy Darrell Tomlin, a UH-60 crew chief, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chapel Hill, Tennessee native was 22.

Chief Warrant Officer Christopher Nicholas, a pilot, and Capt. Terikazu Onada, Charlie Company commander, remain in critical condition at Shock Trauma in Baltimore. All three aboard were assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with our soldiers, their families and friends," Col. Amanda Azubuike, spokeswoman for the Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, said in a statement. "Our top priority is the health of our soldiers and ensuring that their family members are provided the support they need."

The crash scene was secured just after the incident and the cause remains under investigation. A team from Fort Rucker in Alabama arrived at 4:23 p.m. the day of the crash.

"The families of the service members request that we respect their privacy during this challenging time," said Azubuike.

The helicopter was one of three Black Hawks on a routine training mission. The other two helicopters were not affected.
