Heavy showers and some strong thunderstorms passed through Maryland Thursday afternoon.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of the Baltimore area until 5 p.m. There was also a tornado warning that was in effect in the early afternoon for Montgomery County that was canceled.

Storm damage and minor flooding was reported in parts of central Maryland, including damage to a roof of an apartment complex in Baltimore's Mount Washington neighborhood.

By 3 p.m., most of the storms were moving through Harford and Cecil counties.
