Between 8/15/17 and 8/17/17, the Pikeville Precinct experienced eight thefts from motor vehicles. Four of the thefts from motor vehicles occurred in the 2800 block of Quarry Heights Way, two occurred in the 2800 block of Katewood Court, one occurred in the 1800 block of Autumn Frost Lane and one occurred in the 3100 block of Stone Cliff Drive. There were no signs of forced entry to any of these targeted vehicles. It is imperative that vehicles be left locked at all times. The overwhelming majority of thefts from motor vehicles occur because vehicles are unlocked.
Please remember to lock your vehicles and remove all valuables at all times.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said Thursday there would be questions if the Barcelona terror attack involving a van crashing into a group of people was a "copycat" of what happened in Charlottesville, Va.
At least 13 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in Barcelona on Thursday when men rammed their van into a crowd of pedestrians at Las Ramblas, a popular tourism area in the city in northeastern Spain. The attack came five days after a man with white supremacist group ties was arrested for driving his car into a group of counter-protesters in Charlottesville, killing one woman and injuring multiple others.

President Donald Trump condemned the Thursday’s terror attack in Barcelona, Spain, and pledged to do “Whatever is necessary” to help following the attack.

A van rammed through a crowd of pedestrians in a popular tourist hotspot in Barcelona, Spain Thursday afternoon, leaving at least 13 people killed and dozens more injured.

President Donald Trump’s first campaign manager is joining a growing outside political effort dedicated to helping him.
Corey Lewandowski will be a senior adviser and spokesman for a super PAC called America First Action.
That group and a related nonprofit aim to boost Trump’s legislative agenda and the political candidates the president supports.
Lewandowski led Trump’s unexpectedly successful Republican primary campaign. He left the campaign after assaulting a reporter.
Yet Lewandowski and Trump have remained close. The two frequently talk, and Lewandowski occasionally travels with him. That close relationship could prove a challenge for maintaining the necessary legal distance between Trump’s already operational re-election campaign and the super PAC.

Jerusalem Arab woman alerts police to suspicious Arab man who concealed knife before heading out for downtown Jerusalem.
Police captured an Arab suspect from Shuafat neighborhood in northeastern Jerusalem as he made his way to the center of town with a concealed knife, following a tip by an Arab woman who observed him with the weapon.
The woman, also a resident of Shuafat, reportedly witnessed the suspect placing a sharp object in his bag before boarding a bus towards downtown Jerusalem.
After witnessing this, the woman contacted police stationed near the entrance of Shuafat, informing them of the suspect’s concealed weapon.

Detectives are investigating a commercial robbery that occurred on August 16, 2017, in northwest Baltimore.
At approximately 2:45am, an unknown suspect entered the 7-Eleven convenience store, located in the 5500 block of Park Heights Avenue.
The suspect began shopping for items in the store and prepared a cup of coffee. The suspect then approached the counter and threw the cup of coffee at the store employee.
The suspect took money from the cash register and then left the store. The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a red car.
Detectives from the Citywide Robbery Unit are investigating this incident. Detectives believe this suspect is responsible for several other recent convenience store robberies in Baltimore.
